Who we are
Proprietress, Master Stylist and Colorist
In 2013, after 10 years of working at top salons in the city, Angela Taormino brought her unique vision and natural style to Park Slope, Brooklyn at the helm of Union Beauty.
Her designs include beautifully integrated cut and color, a keen eye for natural looks, and haircuts that last and last. She counts many curly ladies among her clients, and loves a makeover. A Wella color master, Angela is the former Color Director of the Antonio Prieto Salon in Chelsea and most recently called East Village favorite Whistle Salon her home.
She is a graduate of the Aveda Institute in Soho and has completed advanced training in Toni & Guy, Vidal Sassoon, Eufora, and Goldwell techniques. She has a BA and a Masters in English which really helps during consultations.

A twenty year Park Slope resident, Betina originally received a Fashion Design degree from Philadelphia University, but was drawn to hair styling because of its sculptural quality. Her fifteen year career began at Parlor in the East Village. Next, she worked under Vidal Sassoon trained Penny Wang, who was a tremendous influence on Betina’s style. Betina attended the Aveda Institute in Soho and has trained in advanced Aveda and Eufora techniques. In her time at Union Beauty, she's completed an intensive color apprenticeship and loves integrating color into her looks.
Betina is skilled with many textures and cuts, and loves big transformations in particular. She’s especially inspired by clients willing to take risks, and loves designing truly individualistic looks.

A Long Island native, Jon began his career on the island but has worked in Manhattan for the last twenty four years, including a sixteen year stint at Antonio Prieto Salon. Jon is a seasoned editorial stylist and has styled many New York Fashion Week shows for such designers as Anna Sui, Badgley Mischka, Calvin Klein, Caroline Herrera, and Jason Wu among others. In addition to precision haircutting, Jon specializes in custom bridal and special event styling. His style is best described as effortless elegance for the modern woman, and he can produce an array of classic to contemporary looks. His bouncy blowouts are in great demand, and he is a certified in Lasio Tropic and Arrojo American Wave.
A master gardener and decorator, Jon’s decorated Halloween house in Bayside, Queens is a huge neighborhood draw. Book with Jon Thursday through Sunday.
A 20 plus year industry veteran and former owner of Park Slope’s delightful Pomona Beauty Sanctuary, Laurie began her career with Vidal Sassoon and has continued advanced training over the years with Arrojo , Aveda, and Eufora, as well as in yoga, meditation, and energy work. Laurie has also done commercial hair and makeup for TV, film, and print. She specializes in blonde highlights, short cuts, razor cuts and curly hair, but really loves all hair. Originally from Alabama, this hair artist has a BFA in painting and is a certified yoga/meditation instructor. Book with Laurie Thursday through Sunday.
Guy started in the industry as a teenager with Eufora salon Katherine Jon Salon where he began his journey with hairstyling. He went on to Kevin Maple Salon in Southhampton, growing his skills and servicing celebrity clients. An incredible natural talent, Guy is a star stylist and colorist with a love for corrective color and upstyling, natural looks and singing. Book with him Sundays and some Mondays.
With an eight year background in natural hair care, braids, custom wigs and extensions, Apprentice Stephanie joined Union Beauty to bring her styling to the next level by learning advanced cut, color, and styling techniques. This edgy, chic stylist was her own first client, practicing techniques on her hair to build confidence in both in her skill and look. She loves the idea of building that same confidence in others through hairstyling. She’s a determined and positive team member, and we love having her.
Ebony joined Union Beauty in the spring of 2017 after ten years of industry experience in Riverside, California where balayage blondes, fantasy looks, and textured hair were her specialties. In her time at Union Beauty she has taken her color to another level, becoming our resident expert in fantasy color transformations. Bright blondes and hair painting are some of her gifts. She loves crafting a whole look with color and cut and her updo styling and braiding are inspired. The Steelers and her Jack Russells Braxton and Mooney are her great loves. Born in Alaska, raised in Beaverton, Oregon, Cassie found her way to Raleigh, NC and began her career at Paul Mitchell the School. Formerly a talented barista, Cassie was drawn to the beauty industry because of it’s emphasis on craft and technical mastery. After apprenticeships with Wella Trendvision winner Katie Manselle and Framesi educator Travis Mann, Cassie ventured to Brooklyn to take her career to the next level. At Union Beauty, she is a customer service star who loves bringing out the natural beauty in hair. We are thrilled to see her grow. Book with Cassie on Tuesday-Thursdays.
A lifelong creator of art, Yenesey found her way to the beauty industry and is fascinated by color theory. Yenesey is a New York native who has cultivated a sense of style highly influenced by the city and it’s fashion tradition. She hopes to publish a book one day exploring the way beauty influences well being. We’re so excited to have her bright energy as part of the team.

Ruby came to live with Angela in 2010. Now 15, Ruby likes walks, cookies, and being admired from afar. She's not so crazy about haircuts but likes looking fancy when they are done.
